Why has a 2003 BMW M3 CSL been sold for €325,625 EUR?

If you’re a car lover, you’ve probably heard of the BMW M3 CSL, one of the Bavarian marque’s most iconic models. But why has this particular model sold for an incredible €325,625 EUR? Let’s take a closer look at the details of this stunning car and find out what makes it so special.

The BMW E46 M3 CSL is one of the German marque’s most important cars. It is a limited edition car, which was launched in 2003 and quickly became one of BMW’s most coveted models for its stunningly elegant and sporty looks as well as its incredible performance and driveability. The BMW M3 CSL debuted at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show, but its official launch did not come until March of the following year at the Geneva Motor Show. This car was built with a lighter body than the production model of the M3, thanks to the use of carbon fibre, glass-reinforced plastic and thinner gauge glass. In addition, it was designed with an all-carbon fibre shell. Production of the BMW M3 CSL was limited to just 1,383 units, which were built at the Regensburg plant between June and December 2003.

Part of the exhibition “The Bavarian Legends Collection”

The recently sold BMW M3 CSL is part of a collection called “The Bavarian Legends Collection”, which already makes it something special. This collection features some of the brand’s most iconic cars, and the fact that this M3 CSL has been selected to be part of it already gives you an idea of its quality.

What makes this BMW M3 CSL so special is the fact that it is a time-warp example. This means that it is in a virtually impeccable state of preservation, as if it had been driven from the dealership just yesterday. With only 4,698 kilometres on the odometer, it is evident that this car has hardly been used since it left the factory almost 20 years ago.

This BMW M3 CSL is finished in an elegant silver grey tone, which is perfectly complemented by the carbon fibre detailing that adorns the bodywork. It also features a six-speed automated transmission, offering an exceptional driving experience.

Why this 2003 BMW M3 CSL has been sold for €325,625 EUR

In short, this BMW M3 CSL is a true gem of automotive engineering. Its state of preservation, its low mileage and the fact that it belongs to a collection of iconic cars make it something truly special. And the fact that only 1,383 CSLs were ever produced makes it even more exclusive. No wonder it sold for such a high figure, as it is one of the best opportunities to own a unique piece of automotive history.

The vehicle has been sold at Sotheby`s, from where the information and photograph were taken.
